Original German commemorative badge (tinnie) issued for the 1939 sports and defense competitions (Sport u. Wehrwettkämpfe) of the SA-Gruppe Bayerische Ostmark.
The item is crafted from distinctive white ceramic or pressed stoneware, a rare alternative to traditional metal badges used during this period.
The obverse design features a vertical sword overlaid on a swastika within an oak wreath, with the date "1939" flanking the blade and the SA logo at the hilt.
The circular border bears the embossed inscription: "SPORT U. WEHRWETTKÄMPFE – SA-GRUPPE BAYER. OSTMARK."
The badge features sharp, clean embossing and remains in excellent collector condition, free of cracks or chips.
The use of ceramic materials was often a result of conserving strategic metals just before and during the war, making these pieces a unique area of interest for historians and collectors.
