Description

An original early pattern belt buckle for members of the Deutsche Jungvolk (DJ), the branch for boys aged 10 to 14. This pre-war example is die-stamped from brass and subsequently nickel-plated. The center features a prominent, raised "Sigrune" (victory rune) in natural brass, which was intentionally left unplated to provide a striking two-tone appearance. The reverse typically features a standard two-prong fastener and a catch for the belt hook. The item shows field wear, including minor scratches and a natural aged patina, which serve as indicators of its historical authenticity.

The DJ was the junior section of the Hitler Youth. Production of this specific single-rune buckle pattern was officially discontinued in 1938 as designs across the organization were standardized. Early nickel-plated brass versions are highly sought after by collectors for their superior craftsmanship compared to later wartime zinc issues. This buckle is a textbook example of official uniform regalia worn by youth organizations between 1933 and 1938.
