This exceptionally rare and decorative miniature of the Polish officer's dagger model 1924 was designed as an elegant letter opener with a total length of 21 cm. The most striking feature of this piece is the steel blade, which showcases high-quality decorative etching of the patriotic motto "Honor i Ojczyzna" (Honor and Fatherland). The characteristic yellow handle is complemented by gilded brass fittings, which have retained their brilliance and intricate details. It should be noted that the eagle emblem on the grip may have been added later for decorative purposes. The scabbard, featuring a wooden core, is meticulously covered in genuine black leather and equipped with a full set of gilded fittings, including movable rings for hangers. The absence of a manufacturer's mark is typical for high-end commemorative items of the period, and the entire piece remains in very good condition, making it a valuable addition to any collection of Polish militaria.
