Miniature Commemorative Badge of the Reserve Cavalry Officer Cadet School Grudziądz II RP, Original

The presented miniature is an original commemorative badge of the Reserve Cavalry Officer Cadet School (SPRKaw) in Grudziądz, dating back to the period of the 2nd Polish Republic (II RP). The badge has a two-piece construction: a central, round medallion with the 1927 pattern Military Eagle (with an amazon shield) superimposed onto an openwork, radiant (toothed) cross.
The item is made of brass, with visible, well-preserved traces of the original gilding, especially in the recesses of the motif. The dimensions of the miniature are small, typical for this type of decoration (usually around 15-20 mm wide), intended for wear on civilian clothes. The reverse features a characteristic fastening system with a threaded post and a decorative brass nut with a leaf motif (often produced by well-known manufacturers such as A. Nagalski or F.M. Lorioli). The condition is very good, with natural patina and minimal signs of use, without damage to the enamel (which this version did not have).
The Reserve Cavalry Officer Cadet School in Grudziądz, established in 1920, was the most important training center for future reserve officer cadres in the Polish Army. Its graduates, reserve cavalry officers, played a crucial role in the September Campaign of 1939 and during the battles of the Polish Armed Forces in the West. Graduating from the school was a source of pride and entitled one to wear this prestigious commemorative badge. This is a significant piece of Polish cavalry history and a sought-after collector's item.
