Description

The offered item is an original, metal badge (pin) of the Railway Workers' Trade Union (ZZK) from the post-war period (PRL). Made of oxidized metal, with red enameled applications. The badge is in the shape of a winged gear, with a smaller, silvery spoked wheel in the center.

Condition: Very good, with visible patina and minor enamel wear, which is typical for the age of the item.
Details: The emblem features the letters "Z" (on the sides) and "K" (on the bottom) in red shields (abbreviation ZKZ, i.e., Railway Workers' Trade Union). The symbol of the winged wheel was commonly used in railway and transport symbolism.
Markings: A threaded post is visible on the reverse. The original nut is included and signed "IWAŃCZAK WARSZAWA".

Historical Context
The badge is associated with the trade union movement in Poland after World War II, during the Polish People's Republic (PRL) era. The Railway Workers' Trade Union (ZZK) was one of the key organizations associating railway employees, who were an important professional group in the socialist economy. The badge served as a symbol of belonging to the union and was worn by railway workers during that period. Enameled versions were often more prestigious or intended for functional union members, produced by well-known engraving workshops, such as Iwańczak.
