Historical Context:
This HJ knife is a significant regional rarity. While the vast majority of these knives originated in Solingen, this specific piece was produced by the small Karl Tiegel (Tiegelwerk) factory located in Riemberg, Lower Silesia (now Rościsławice, Poland). The "Schl." (Schlesien) abbreviation provides a direct link to its Silesian manufacturing heritage. Karl Tiegel's RZM license (M7/81) was revoked in late 1941, making surviving examples from this Silesian maker highly desirable.
