Original German commemorative event badge (known as a Tinnie) marking the mobilization rally of the Hansa Sturmabteilung division in 1936. The openwork circular obverse features a prominent, stylized SA organization symbol integrated into the core design. Along the outer border runs the crisp, embossed inscription AUFMARSCH SA-GRUPPE HANSA 25.-26.4.1936, while the lower section designates the event cities HAMBURG SCHWERIN. The piece is produced using a stamped hollow sheet metal technique with a distinct golden-bronze aged patina. The reverse presents a perfect negative relief of the front design and is fitted with a fully functional vertical attachment pin secured directly to the frame. The item remains in sound historical condition showing natural age-related oxidation.
Historical context:
This specific badge was officially distributed for the large-scale regional assembly and propaganda march organized by SA-Gruppe Hansa, held on April 25–26, 1936. The event brought together paramilitary contingents from both Hamburg and Schwerin, serving as a display of strength, discipline, and readiness in the northern region of Germany. During the mid-1930s, these rallies were crucial instruments of political showmanship, involving thousands of uniformed personnel. These small commemorative tokens were purchased by participants and worn proudly on uniform pockets or civilian attire to verify attendance at the gathering.
