An original commemorative rally badge (tinnie) issued for the regional Lower Saxony meeting. The item is made of stamped metal (likely zinc alloy or silvered tombac), featuring a distinctive and dynamic composition.
Obverse: The dominant element is the silhouette of the walking Brunswick Lion, positioned against a flag with a swastika. Below the lion is a rectangular plaque with the date: "23./24.VI.1934". At the bottom of the badge, there is a two-line inscription in ornate Gothic script: "Niedersachsen-Tag / Braunschweig".
Reverse: Fitted with a vertical pin back fastening.
Condition: In good condition with a distinct natural patina and signs of age. The details of the lion and the inscriptions remain legible. The metal surface has local discolorations consistent with the item's age.
Historical Information
This badge was the official emblem issued for the "Day of Lower Saxony" (Niedersachsen-Tag) meeting held in Braunschweig on June 23–24, 1934. Such events were propaganda-driven and served to consolidate party structures and paramilitary organizations (such as the SA) in the region. The lion motif used on the badge directly references the city's historical symbol—the famous Brunswick Lion.
