Original German commemorative event badge (known as a Tinnie) tracking the Competition Days of the Saxon Sturmabteilung division. The highly detailed obverse features a composition depicting a profiled eagle clutching a Roman sword in its talons, superimposed on a swastika and an oak leaf wreath. The bottom rectangular frame displays the crisp, embossed inscription WETTKAMPTAGE DER SA-GRUPPE SACHSEN CHEMNITZ 2-5 JULI 1936. The piece is produced using a deep-molding technique on a rarely seen pressed paper material with a distinctive golden-bronze coating imitating metal. The reverse mirrors the front design in negative relief and is fitted with a fully functional horizontal pin mounted on a circular base-plate with a partial inscription visible. The item remains in sound historical condition with authentic age wear.

This specific badge was officially distributed for the regional athletic and military training competitions organized by SA-Gruppe Sachsen, held from July 2nd to July 5th, 1936, in the city of Chemnitz. Such events were designed to demonstrate political unity while testing the physical fitness and field skills of the Saxon paramilitary membership. The utilization of pressed paper and alternative non-metallic materials for Tinnie-style badges grew increasingly popular during the mid-to-late 1930s as a means to conserve strategic non-ferrous metal reserves. These commemorative rally badges were purchased by both active participants and spectators, proudly worn on uniform lapels or civilian jackets to signify attendance.
