Description

Original belt buckle issued to members of the Hitler Youth (HJ) organization, crafted from light aluminum alloy.
The front centerpiece showcases a sharply embossed eagle clutching the institutional diamond shaped logo with an enclosed swastika.
The central design is bordered by a textbook stylized rope rim and the famous organizational motto in Gothic script: "Blut und Ehre", which translates to "Blood and Honor".
The reverse features a highly visible, raised RZM control mark inside a circle alongside the official factory code M4/44 stamped right below the integrated catch.
The piece includes its original, fully functional dual-prong steel bar assembly on a rolling axis for secure mounting onto a leather field belt.
The metal surface retains a fine natural age patina, light storage marks, and minor wear that cleanly validates its historical legitimacy.
This buckle represents a textbook operational specimen of youth organization field gear produced in Germany between 1933 and 1945.

Historical context:
The RZM (Reichszeugmeisterei) procurement system oversaw material standards and manufacturer licensing for political and paramilitary equipment. In their classification structure, the M4 category was specifically allocated to uniform belt buckles. The manufacturer code "44" indicates production by the prominent metalworks firm Paul Cramer & Co. located in Lüdenscheid. Aluminum examples carrying this specific mark are highly sought after in the historical militaria community due to their superior die-striking quality and crisp preservation of the design.
