This exceptional collectible figurine originates from the prestigious German Allach manufactory and serves as a prime example of high-quality animalier sculpture. The piece was designed by one of the most prominent animal sculptors of the era, Professor Theodor Karner, whose name is clearly visible as an embossed marking on the underside of the base. The bottom of the figurine also features the distinctive underglaze green signature consisting of stylized SS runes within an octagon, positioned above the "Allach" factory name written in Gothic script. Crafted from fine white porcelain with a brilliant glaze, the item also bears the impressed model number "102" within the porcelain paste. The entire composition rests on a solid base with a centrally located technical vent hole, a standard feature of the production process at this manufactory. The figurine is preserved in excellent condition, with clear and undamaged maker's marks, which significantly enhances its historical and collector value.
Historical context:
The Allach Porcelain Manufactory was an exclusive workshop operating between 1935 and 1945, which came under the direct control of the SS and Heinrich Himmler in 1936. Himmler viewed the production of "white gold" as a vital tool for promoting Germanic culture, leading to collaborations with renowned artists like Professor Theodor Karner, who previously worked for Rosenthal. Due to limited production runs and exceptional artistic quality, Allach products remain among the most sought-after and valuable items in the global fine porcelain market today.
