Description

Original German white glazed porcelain figurine manufactured by the renowned and highly coveted Allach Porcelain Manufactory (Porzellan-Manufaktur Allach). This luxury model, designated as number 98, showcases a classic, expressive, and tender figurative scene titled "Mutter mit Kind" (Mother with Child). It depicts a seated mother gazing affectionately at a small winged child (putto) standing beside her on an oval base. The piece was designed by the prominent sculptor and professor Peter Horn, whose name (P. HORN) along with the model code (98) is deeply and clearly incised into the porcelain paste on the underside of the base. Centered on the bottom is also a flawless, underglaze factory mark consisting of the distinctive stylized SS runes enclosed within an octagon, with the word "Allach" underneath. The entire figurine is characterized by supreme craftsmanship, an immaculate snow-white glossy finish, and masterful anatomical modeling, which were the hallmarks of this elite workshop.

Physical features:

Material and finish: fine white porcelain covered with a high-gloss glaze.
Subject matter: figurative representation of a mother and child (Mutter mit Kind).

Factory hallmark: crisp underglaze black Allach runic stamp inside an octagonal frame.
Condition report: very good overall, clean surface with no cracks, minor chip on the child's pinky finger.
Base shape: elongated oval design with smoothly finished interior rim walls.

Historical context:
The Allach Porcelain Manufactory, operating between 1935 and 1945 near Munich, was one of the most specific and elite artistic enterprises in the history of the Third Reich. From 1936 onward, it fell under the direct control of Heinrich Himmler and the SS structures, serving as the regime's flagship propaganda and artistic project. Allach products, including animal sculptures and idealized depictions of family and motherhood designed by celebrated artists like Peter Horn, were not intended for general commercial sale. Instead, they were produced in limited numbers to serve as high-status presentation gifts for senior dignitaries and distinguished members of the organization. Due to short production runs and the widespread postwar destruction of runic-marked items, original Allach figurines are exceptionally rare and highly valued on the global antiquity market.
