Historical Information:
The Porzellan Manufaktur Allach (PMA) was a porcelain factory founded in 1935 near Munich, which after a year of operation was taken over and run directly by the SS under the control of Heinrich Himmler. Himmler's goal was to create the highest quality porcelain, reflecting the aesthetics and ideology of the Third Reich. Animal figurines, including elephants, were popular products, often given as gifts to high-ranking SS officers. The Allach plant later became a subcamp of the Dachau concentration camp, using forced labor from prisoners to produce both luxury items and everyday ceramics. Model no. 3, designed by the renowned sculptor Theodor Kärner, is a rare collector's item.
