An original and rare miniature of the commemorative decoration "Cross of Polish Soldiers from America," produced by the prestigious American engraving company Whitehead & Hoag Co. in Newark, N.J. This specimen exhibits the high-quality enamel work and precision typical of items manufactured for Polish volunteers in the United States.
Obverse: A cross with arms covered in deep maroon enamel. A crowned eagle is mounted in the center. The arms bear the embossed inscription: "SWOIM ŻOŁNIERZOM Z AMERYKI OSWOBODZONA POLSKA". Between the arms is a radiant wreath with the names: "LWÓW", "POMORZE", "POZNAŃ", "ŚLĄSK" and the dates "WOJNA 1918-1920".
Reverse: Smooth finish with a centrally located threaded mounting post.
Nut: Original nut signed with the embossed inscription: "WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, N.J.". This is a crucial element confirming the American origin of this specific version.
Condition: Excellent collector's condition. The enamel is fully intact with no chips. Metal parts show a fine natural aged patina. Maker's marks are perfectly legible, and the thread is functional.

The Cross of Polish Soldiers from America was established in 1920 by Jozef Pilsudski to honor volunteers from the USA and Canada who joined General Jozef Haller's Blue Army. Versions produced by Whitehead & Hoag in Newark were often commissioned directly by Polish veteran organizations in the United States (such as SWAP). This decoration remains one of the most important symbols of the bond between the Polish-American community and the reborn homeland during the struggle for its borders.
