Description

An original miniature commemorative badge "Poland on the Trail of Józef Piłsudski," produced in one of the most prestigious Warsaw engraving workshops of the interwar period – the studio of Józef Michrowski.

External Appearance: The badge features a distinct shield-like shape. The upper section displays a Legionary eagle resting on an Amazon shield inscribed with the initials "JP" (Józef Piłsudski).
Inscriptions: The central part of the shield bears a clear, embossed inscription: "POLSKA NA SZLAKU JÓZEFA PIŁSUDSKIEGO" (Poland on the Trail of Józef Piłsudski).
Reverse: Smooth finish with a central threaded mounting post.
Nut: Original brass nut, appropriately sized for the miniature. Signed with the distinct embossed inscription: "J. MICHROWSKI GRAWER WARSZAWA NOWY ŚWIAT 15".
Condition: Excellent collector's condition. Sharp strike, with metal parts showing a fine natural aged patina. The thread is functional, and the engraver's marks on the nut are perfectly legible.
Physical Features: Made of metal (likely silvered brass).

The "Poland on the Trail of Józef Piłsudski" badge was awarded to participants of marches and ceremonies commemorating the military actions of the Polish Legions. This miniature, crafted in the workshop of Józef Michrowski at the prestigious address of Nowy Świat 15, is a valuable and rare piece of Legionary phaleristics, documenting the cult of the Marshal during the Second Polish Republic.
