Historical Information
This badge is closely associated with the traditions of the Westphalia region (Gebiet 9 Westfalen). Widukind, the Saxon leader and chief opponent of Charlemagne, was heavily utilized in National Socialist propaganda as a symbol of Germanic resistance and steadfastness. These badges were typically issued during local Hitler Youth rallies and marches (Gebietsaufmarsch) within this district. Due to its unique design and regional nature, it is a highly sought-after piece for collectors of HJ memorabilia.
