An original German Luftwaffe enlisted men's combat belt buckle made of stamped steel in extraordinary condition.
The buckle body retains virtually all of its original factory blaugrau (blue-grey) finish which is highly desirable for advanced collectors.
The obverse features the 2nd pattern Luftwaffe eagle in flight clutching a swastika surrounded by an oval laurel leaf wreath on a pebbled background.
This example features its original leather tab which remains securely stitched and in excellent state of preservation.
The leather tab displays a clear oval embossed maker mark for PAULMANN & CRONE MENDEN and is dated 1942.
The attachment mechanism including the prong bar and dual prongs is fully functional and free of any damage.
This is a textbook mid-war example preserved in near-mint condition representing a high-end investment piece of WWII field gear.
