Weyersberg Paul & Co., Solingen

The company Weyersberg Paul & Co. (Crs), Stahlwarenfabrik was established in 1840 in Solingen. Boasting a long history in precision craftsmanship, the firm originally specialized in general steelware production before expanding its operations during the Third Reich era to include official contracts for edged weapons, specifically focusing on SA service daggers (Sturmabteilung). Situated in Solingen, the manufacturer built upon the region's deeply rooted traditions as the heart of German blade craft.

In 1935, the company was officially assigned the RZM code M7/43 for the manufacturing of NSDAP political organization daggers. Paul Weyersberg manufactured an estimated total of only 2,000 SA service daggers, which grants these pieces a 3.5/5 rarity rating (moderately rare) among advanced military antiques collectors. These early-production pieces feature classic solid nickel-silver fittings and bear the iconic etched blade motto "Alles für Deutschland". Beyond political daggers, the factory's portfolio included standard domestic and commercial steel goods.

The highly distinctive trademark or logo of Paul Weyersberg consists of a circular emblem. The text "PAUL WEYERSBERG" is placed along the upper arc, with "SOLINGEN" following the lower edge. Positioned at the absolute center is a stylized letter "W" with an arrow running through it. This iconic design, embodying precision, strength, and manufacturing tradition, was typically etched directly onto the blades. Today, surviving products from this maker represent a fascinating chapter in Solingen cutlery history.
