Wielpütz Thomas, Solingen

The company Thomas Wielpütz, Stahlwarenfabrik (known for its Gegr. 1880 mark) was established in 1880 in Solingen-Höhscheid. Boasting a rich history in steelware craftsmanship, the firm expanded its manufacturing scope during the Third Reich era to include contract production of political edged weapons. In 1935, the factory was officially assigned the RZM code M7/109 for the manufacturing of NSDAP political organization daggers.

Thomas Wielpütz manufactured an estimated total of approximately 1,000 SA service daggers (Sturmabteilung). This limited production run grants these historical pieces an exceptional rarity rating of 4.5/5 (highly rare) among military antiques collectors. These pieces are recognized for their quality, featuring solid nickel-silver fittings and the iconic etched blade motto "Alles für Deutschland".

The highly distinctive trademark of Thomas Wielpütz features a circular emblem with the text "THOMAS WIELPÜTZ" along the upper arc and "SOLINGEN-HÖHSCHEID" along the lower arc. At the center is "GEGR. 1880," denoting the firm’s founding date. This classic, traditional logo conveys the manufacturer's long-standing heritage and makes their products easily recognizable in the collector's scene today. Surviving products from this maker represent a significant and scarce chapter of Solingen's blade industry history, making them excellent reference examples for any comprehensive blank weapons encyclopedia.
